This past weekend was such a great time of friendship and ministry. I realized that a lot has happened in a year. On Saturday, Communitas served at the New York City Rescue Mission, putting together care packages to be given to needy families Thanksgiving week. Over 2 dozen friends from Communitas came together. As we sorted and stuffed bags, I was overwhelmed with the community God has brought into my life. It was serious joy! I realized how much I love these friends and how they have enriched my life. We have all been through a great deal together. We have struggled, wondered, doubted, and rejoiced as well. It occurred to me that while we still have much to learn about genuine community, we are becoming "Communitas", a community forged in the furnace of struggle, risk, and challenge.
Today, Danny and Amy Cox were with us. I was so excited to have Danny lead our band and to lead us in worship. The years we worked together at Kensington, leading New Community, will stand out as some of the most formative and joyful years of my life. We helped each other to learn to hear God's voice more clearly, to love Jesus more, and to grow in our love for his bride, the Church. I have missed him so much. So as he lead us today, I looked around at the people that God has gathered to us in our first year here, and felt deep gratitude in my heart. God has been good. He is good.

Oh my gosh, i bet it was awesome having Danny there, and i can imagine how much you loved it, i know how close you guys were :)
Hey is there anyway you can get an RSS Feed on your new blog so people can subscribe to your updates???
Can't wait to see you this weekend, I changed my Production Team volunteer schedule so I could be there :) The invitation for dinner or coffee after service is still open (even though we know your schedule)!

RSS basically lets someone "subscribe" to your blog, so when YOU make an update, they are notified. Here's a pretty simple explanation: http://www.commoncraft.com/rss_plain_english
In your current Blogger.com blog, it automatically gives an RSS feed .. see the little orange box with white wavey things in the url box?
I use Google Reader (like in the video) and every time you updated your blog, it would show up in my Reader. Make sense??
Does someone do your Communitas website for you? They would probably/hopefully know how to put an RSS Feed on it ..
Pam- When you go to our messages page, it shows a link for subscriptions and includes a RSS feed. But it doesn't seem to be working, so I am looking into it with our web host.
We lost our web guy, so for now, I am it!
Oh, I found it and it DOES work! So I subscribed already (it probably didn't work when you tried it because you don't have a Reader???)
The only thing you might think about doing is having the Blog subscription option available from your blog page, I never would have found it where it's at. But I wouldn't make that a priority, geez, how much MORE can you do!??!!
